Description
The suits in this option are created using S180 wool fabric.
At Shane Ave we use Super S180 or Super S120 for all our wool suiting.
Super 180 (S180) is perfect for special occasions. Super 120 (S120) is great for everyday wear. S180 is a denser and lighter weight fabric than S120.
The S number on suit fabrics represents the number of times the wool has been twisted. As a general rule of thumb is the higher the number, the finer the cloth will be:
- The higher Super S count often means a smoother texture and can appear more luxurious.
- Lower S number fabrics ie: S80, S100 the cloth will have a coarser texture and is generally heavier and warmer.
What is the difference between Super S180 and Super S120 Wool?
Both S120 and S180 use worsted medium weight wool yarn which is manufactured through a process that separates the long strong fibres from a bundle of wool and spins/twists them into the yarn used to make suiting material.
The S number on suit fabrics represents the number of times the wool has been twisted. As a general rule of thumb is the higher the number, the finer the cloth will be:
- The S-number also indicates the thickness of the fibre as defined in the IWTO Super S Code of Practice.
- Each S-number correlates to a maximum fibre diameter measured in micrometers.
N.b. Fiber diameters are measured from the finished, dyed fabric.
We also offer a Wool/Polyester Blend which has more colour options than pure wool.
We can highly recommend any of these options for great suit quality and wear.
